We’re madly finishing up the second issue of Cheryl Watson’s Tuning Letter and also creating our presentations for SHARE in Atlanta that starts on July 31. Busy, busy, busy! If you’ll be at SHARE, you can find us at the following sessions:
8/1, Mon, 12:30-1:30 pm, Room A706 – Session 19077 – Lunchtime BOF: z/OS Requirements, Cheryl
8/2, Tue, 1:45-2:45 pm, Room L401 – Session 19155 – Benchmark every week? Why? Are you crazy? Cheryl describes benchmarking techniques. If you’re a newbie to capacity planning, performance, or chargeback, this session is a must. And if you’re sure you know what you’re doing, come see how the z13 might be changing things for you.
8/4, Thu, 8:30-9:30 am, Room A706 – Session 19877 – The Frank and Cheryl zRoadshow – Part 1 of 2. Frank and Cheryl present a continuation and update of last SHARE’s zRoadshow, but this time Frank gets time to cover his material. 🙂
8/4, Thu, 3:15-4:15 pm, Room A706 – Session 19098 – Containing MLC Costs for Mobile and New Workloads. Frank and Cheryl repeat this highly-rated session from last SHARE, and provide updates from the last six months of experience.
8/5, Fri, 10-11 am, Room A706 – Session 19087 – The Cheryl and Frank zRoadshow – Part 2 of 2. Cheryl and Frank present a variety of topics that have piqued their interest during the last six months and during the week at SHARE. This should have something for everyone.
You will usually be able to find Cheryl (and Tom) at the SHARE Technology Exchange Expo (STE) hanging out near the H&W Computer Systems booth. Please stop by to say hello and meet our new partners in software development. You could also check out their popular product, SYSB-II, that lets you share VSAM files between CICS and batch without needing VSAM RLS or TVS. The hours are: Monday (4-7:30 pm), Tuesday (4-7:30 pm), and Wednesday (10:30 am-1:30 pm).
Stay tuned!
