1.  Education Survey

In our last Cheryl’s List (#170), we introduced Frank Kyne, who is our new Tuning Letter editor. Frank and I will also be developing new classes, and we’d like some feedback before we decide which classes we’ll present first. If you would help us out by filling out a short survey, we’d really appreciate it. The survey is anonymous, but if you’d like to submit your name for a drawing, you could win a free class. You can take the survey here –https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DFYZDLH.

2. Thanks to Many IBMers

In this edition, we would like to take a minute to thank the many IBMers who are retiring or moving on from IBM to new jobs. These people have provided unparalleled support over the years and have constantly impressed us with their dedication, enthusiasm, and knowledge. They are more than colleagues – they are our mentors, our supporters, and our friends. We are sure that all our readers will join us in wishing them health, happiness, and prosperity in their new adventures. Several of these excellent people will be going into consulting, and we’d like to let you know how to get in touch with them. Here are three that we know are especially talented, who most recently worked at the IBM Washington Systems Center:

Greg Boyd, System z Crypto and Security; www.mainframecrypto.com, greg-boyd@mainframecrypto.com, phone: 240-772-1539.
Mike Loos, WebSphere on z/OS; mjloos52@gmail.com, mjloos@comcast.net, cell: (651) 270-3324.
Nat Stevenson III, z/OS Core, GRS, MIM Migrations, Shared Tape; nat.stevenson@hotmail.com, phone: 301-836-1462.

We at Watson & Walker also provide consulting. We can help with z/OS availability, continuous operation, outsourcing, Workload Manager, RMF, SMF, z/OS performance, and z/OS system programming. You can contact us at technical@watsonwalker.com.
